Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Alfredo Roca, Family Reserve, Malbec 2008, unbalanced by herbaceous notes
Alfredo Roca, Reserva de Familia,Malbec 2008,By Roca Wines, USD 20
A malbec from San Rafael Departament in South Mendoza.
Nice malbec with red cherries and plum with a strong herbaceous note not quite wonderful to my taste. Good oak envelope like chocolate and vanilla. Long lasting red. An 88 points red, not quite typical neither attractive even though somehow complex. Overpriced to my taste. I don´t feel time´s going to improve the basic structure.
