Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Jorge Rubio, Malbec Privado 2008, nice components well blended in this General Alvear´s Malbec
Privado ,Malbec 2008, By Finca Gabriel Benavides (Jorge Rubio), USD 10
A signature malbec from General Alvear Departament, South Mendoza.
Quite interesting malbec at a premium level. Nice plum and dry fig dominate the palate and aromas with only a soft brush of chocolate and coffee from oak. Well balanced with a nice bitter tannin. Probably not likeable for everyone. Mature now at 4 years old, and probably trespassing palteau after 6 years old. An 87 point malbec with adecuate price. I´d say a good value.
