Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Felix Malbec 2010, from Cafayate with minor flaws
Felix, Malbec 2010, By Bodega Felix Lavaque, USD 18
A malbec from Cafayate Valley, Salta Province, Northwest Argentina.
Concentrated malbec with typical notes of malbec in a somehow herbal base and slightly acid like lactic (overheated ?). Ripe and wide plummy core with black berries and some dark quince membrillo. Not invasive notes of chocolate. In any case a very good malbec with minor flaws. I´d say an 85 point malbec. I feel uncertain about where to and how much that minor flaw might lead in the upcoming years.
