Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Algodon Malbec 2009, a new vintage of a great Malbec from San Rafael Valley
Algodon Malbec 2009, By Algodon Wine Estate, USD 18
Another vintage of this outstanding malbec from San Rafael Valley, south Mendoza.
Wide and brilliant fron the first ´touch´ of the nose with the mist outflowing the cup. Elegant violets and red cherries with sweet sensation of the oak give way to a wide palate with balanced fruits and oak (mostly chocolate and toast). Some nice notes of figs ripe and sweet and a very light quince membrillo not overcooked. A 91 point malbec now that has 1 to 3 years to get much better. Great value.
