Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Amalaya white 2010, an overexpressed Torrontes from Cafayate´s Valley
Amalaya 2010, Torrontes & Riesling, By Bodega Amalaya (Hess Family), USD 10
A blend from Cafayate Valley, Salta Province, Northwest Argentina.
A shoking white overexpressing a punch of grapefruit and rude plant with minimal if any other thing to tell. The palate barely gets balance although the sweetness, alcohol and acidity are out there well enough. Unfortunately this citric and herbal overexpression renders the wine easily saturable (probably a similar overexpression in a Chard from NZ is more balanced and likeable). An 84 point white somehow nice but unbalanced.
