Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Amauta IV Syrah 2007, hard to drink twice
Amauta IV, Syrah 2007, By Bodegas del Porvenir, USD 24
A Syrah from Cafayate Valley, salta Province in North Argetina.
A nice red that won´t deceive at all. Fruity and sweet with red compoted cherries and quince. No spiciness to remind a syrah. Not even the concentration and elegance of it. An 86 points red with no story to tell. It might have been better before 4 years old.
