Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Altocedro Reserve Malbec 2009, a high quality Malbec to repeat
Altocedro Reserve Malbec 2009, By Bodega Altocedro, USD 40
All the beauty of La Consulta District (San Carlos Dpt, Uco Valley) expressed with great typicity. Sugary black fruits with nice acidity and elegance. Dark chocolaty note not over the top. Soft vanilla too. Quite balanced palate with enough aftertaste to reach the next sip. A 92 points Malbec good to try now and better 4 to 6 years from vintage. A fine and high quality Malbec.
