Verum Merlot Reserve 2007, great value if less than 15-17 bucks

Verum Merlot Reserva 2007, By Bodega Alfredo Eduardo del Rio, USD 22
A 12 mos French Barrique Merlot from Fernandez Oro district in Rio Negro Valley, Northpatagonia. Round fresh and fruity merlot with chocolaty and nutty components leaning on red currant and quince sweet compote (slow simmering in syrup). Strong alcohol perceived and good acidity. Now is balanced and nice but it´ll be better in 2-4 years cellaring. Not complex to be a great merlot lacking spice and herbal components at once. An 88 merlot (probably close to 90 if well matured) good value if less than15-18 bucks and nice to see evolve in a 2-4 years time span.
