Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Chakana reserve Malbec 2009, a well balanced Uco Valley + Lujan blend
Chakana Reserve, Malbec 2009, By Chakana Wines (Andean Wines), USD 15
A beautiful Malbec bottled in Lujan de Cuyo Departament, Central Mendoza.
It mixes ripe and sour black cherries and berries typical from Uco Valley with a bit of soft and strong red berries. Delicious chocolaty note rounds up. Very good balance and attractiveness
all over the palate. Delicate and soft and not even close to overconcentrated. Nice enough complexity.
An 89 points malbec that will get better next few (lets say 2-4) years. Great value.
