Tasting notes of a local wine lover without elegant literacy or web design. Just plain wine talk. By the same token I analyze the opened bottle with my senses, just at the very end I re-check the producer (I first checked it when bought it for sure!),vintage, terroir, and price. These data allow me to reconstruct the wine and trace a botton line.

Alta Vista Rose, Malbec 2008, a good `little´ malbec
Alta Vista Rose, Malbec 2008, By Bodega Alta Vista, USD 10
A Malbec from Lujan de Cuyo Departament vinified into Rose. Nice rose lucent and bright promising violets and ripe red cherries and plum. The palate feels it mostly in the early and middle passage. Smooth tannins and deep grounded. A 84 points (*) rose (which could be a 88 red equivalent). Good value.
(*) There is no way any Rose could ever reach the complexity and maturation of a red wine. I would expect the maximal score close to 85-87 at the best, which could be traslated intuitively to 89-91 points for a red (lets say a 4-point span). So the score is expressed in `rose metrics´.
